IRNOP Project Research Conferences

The IRNOP Project Research Conference aims to bi-annually gather scholars from all over the world who have a research interest in projects. Please note that in 2006 it was descided to move the Irnop Research Conferences to odd numbered years.

• IRNOP IX Conference will be held in Berlin, Germany, in 2009. More information and a call for paper will appear here shortly. 
• IRNOP VIII Conference, Brighton, UK, 2007. Projects in Innovation, Innovation in Projects.
  The eighth research conference was held in Brighton, UK, September 19-21, 2007. The hosts for the conference were CENTRIM, University of Brighton and SPRU, University of Sussex. 
• IRNOP VII Conference, Xi'an, China, 2006.
  The seventh conference was held in Xi'an, China, October 11-13, 2006. The hosts of the conference were The International Project Management Institute of Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU), supported by Project Management Research Committee (PMRC).
  
• IRNOP VI Conference. Turku, Finland, 2004.  The sixth IRNOP conference was held in Turku, Finland and hosted by Åbo Akademi University & Helsinki University of Technology.
  
• IRNOP V Conference. Rotterdam, Netherlands, 2002.
  The fifth IRNOP conference was held in Rotterdam, Netherlands and hosted by the Erasmus university. 
  
• IRNOP IV Conference. Sydney, Australia, 2000. Paradoxes of Project Collaboration in the Global Economy: Interdependence, Complexity and Ambiguity
  The fourth IRNOP event was held in Sydney, Australia. The conference was hosted by University of Technology in Sydney.
  
• IRNOP III Conference. Calgary, Canada, 1998. The nature and role of projects in the next 20 years: Research issues and problems.
  The third IRNOP conference was held in Calgary, Canada and hosted by University of Calgary. A selection of papers were reviewed and published in Lundin, R. A. & Hartman, F. (eds.) • IRNOP II Conference. Paris, France, 1996. Aspects of society and business organized as projects.
  The second IRNOP conference was held in busy Paris in 1996. The event was hosted by Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. Selected papers were reviewed and published in Lundin, R. A. & Midler, C. (eds.) • IRNOP I Conference. Lycksele, Sweden, 1994. Temporary organizations and project management.
  This was the first IRNOP conference held in the beutiful surroundings of Lycksele in the north of Sweden. The conference was hosted by Umeå School of Business and Economics. Selected papers were reviewed and published in Scandinavian Journal of Management, vol 11, # 4 (1995).

• Making Projects Critical 2008. The workshop will be held on 30 March -1 April 2008 at KTH (The Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm. The deadline for extended abstracts is December 3rd 2007. 
• Euram 2008 May 14-17, 2008, Ljubljana & Bled, Slovenia. There will be a track on Projects and programmes: Diversity of Management, Diversity of Aims and Interests. Extended deadline for paper submissions: January 27, 2008.
• EGOS 2008, 4^th EGOS Colloquium, July 10–12, 2008 Vrije University Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The conference theme is "Upsetting Organizations" and a subtrack on "Temporary and project-based organizing" will be held. Submission deadline for abstracts: 13 January, 2008.
• ICPQR 2008 Conference in Oulu, Finland. The International Conference on Productivity and Quality Research will be held in June 25-27, 2008. Call for paper. Deadline for submission of extended abstracts: 29th February, 2008.  
• PMI Research Conference 2008 in Warsaw, Poland. The fifth biennial conference will meet 13-16 July 2008. Submission of papers starting 1 June through 15 December 2007.
• IFSAM 2008 in Shanghai, China. There is a special track on "Management of Projects and Temporary Organizations" The conference will be held on July 26 - 28, 2008. The theme of the cogress is "The Fusion and Development of East and West Management", A call for papers is available on the official home page www.ifsam.org.cn, see also the main web-site www.ifsam.org
• EuroMOT 2008 in Nice, France. September 17-19, 2008. Deadline for full paper submission: 15 April 2008.
• Building Abroad in Montréal, Québec, Canada. October 23-24, 2008. Call for papers. Deadline for submission: 30 January, 2008.
• IPMA 2008 Congress in Rome Italy. Call for paper and Research Award Application. The congress will be held November 9-11 2008 and the deadlines are:
  Abstract, January 31, 2008
  Final paper submission, July 31, 2008
  Application for the research award, August 1, 2008.
